i love the idea of a red shoe but most i see never seem executed correctly with a complete ensemble. at least for the time being, i would like to venture out and say that patent red leather shoes don’t work if you’re over the age of 16. unless it’s part of an S&M halloween costume. red satin shoes as well are borderline offensive to me so, i think a) a richer red color is required and b) suede may be the answer, unless c) you are judy garland and have ruby red slippers. timeless.

i just ordered these red pumps from nine west. originally $119 on zappos, currently on sale for $100.99… but interestingly was on sale even further on zappos’ sister site, 6pm, for $83.30. at least momentarily over this weekend.

so two tips:

• search shopping.google.com for an item to locate the lowest possible price – it works like a charm
• red heels in patent leather or any equivalent shiny material shouldn’t be worn by grown women
